Unique Theatre Commission - Opening Night Gifts ‘Rebecca’ for Knee High Theatre

Unique Theatre Commission - Opening Night Gifts ‘Rebecca’ for Knee High Theatre

Last night I dreamt I went to Manderley again…

Over the last 2/3 weeks I’ve been very busy with a large commission I received from a Cornwall based theatre company. Kneehigh Theatre contacted me and wanted 35 copies of Daphne du Maurier’s 'Rebecca’ for the cast and crew for the opening night.

Usually within my work, I find books singularly in old book shops and charity shops, so sourcing 35 copies of the same book was the first challenge! Safe to say I felt a bit mad going on a Rebecca eBay buying spree, and my postman was definitely confused when an influx of books kept arriving (15 on one day!)

I was so busy binding and wrapping and embossing I didn’t get a chance to take many photos, but here they are wrapped up and ready to be posted off.

Everything was put on hold for a bit while I sorted this (I’ve had to turn down several birthday commissions which makes me sad!) but now they’ve gone off and I can relax a bit, I’m looking forward to re-stocking my online shop and blogging more. Pictured below are some of the beautiful books I have coming in stock soon!

You can buy tickets to see Kneehigh’s performance here , I know I can’t wait to see it when it comes to Bath in March.
